Mosaics have been an influential decorative pieces in architecture for nearly 4 thousand years, since the early Roman period. Mosaics filled cathedrals, museums and were found in excavation sites in Milan, Rome, Naples, Pompeii, Ravenna and Venice (Italy), Palermo and Monreale (Sicily), and the Hagia Sophia( Istanbul, Turkey). They were often used in the most distinguished residences and public spaces. I hand cut each piece of glass in traditional Roman fashion and place each on the table or vase to form a unique pattern. The amount of time and labor expended to create these works of art are phenomenal yet the outcome presents an appealing marriage of intricate colorful patterns and images reflected in the austerity and solidity of the stone. I has been making custom mosaics for over 5 years. I create beautiful handmade works of art that take weeks and weeks to complete. I mosaics everything from intricate vases to picture frames and 54" huge patio tables. I sells them locally in high end galleries and exquisite flower shops.
