While the richly hued colors like amethyst, sage, blush, topaz and emerald provide a distinct colour palette that enable the wearer to stand out in a crowd.
Elizabethans:
The Elizabethan collection is recognizable with the combination of neck /wrist ruffles and body/arm lacing. The mixing of these two elements gives an haute couture look. Worn in either black with red detailing or white with black detailing the sleeveless knee-length dress or cropped jacket are definite statement staples.
Men’s Collections:
Dress shirts:
The men’s dress shirts are unique in that they have a double collar, one that remains upright and the other can be turned down. Additionally, the upper arms have sewn ruching details to provide visual interest. Overall, this is not your traditional long sleeved shirt, the subtle tailoring speaks volumes with an edgy flare.
Mission Statement:
Sequoia Emmanuelle and Gita Salem are the founders and designers of the women’s and men’s line, S&G clothing. Together they create high fashion designs with an au courant edge. Sequoia, whose background is rooted in costuming with a love for high fashion, is also a trained photographer. She’s responsible for the visual imagery that represents the brand and “loves photography and the whole story that it can create.”Alternately, Gita came to develop the line with his experience in business, fashion marketing and worldly travels. Together, the designer’s remark on how the collection blossomed, “we were able to take a vision that we had in our heads, and see a style come alive through the process of designing clothing.” Sequoia and Gita set out to inspire beauty and creativity with their collections. We really wanted to “make people feel good when they wear our clothing” Sequoia states. Building on this notion, Gita mentions that they created the line with the stylistic idea that “nothing is far from reach”. It is with this philosophical approach that they designed their prospective collections. To date, the appeal of the one-year-old S&G collection has turned fashion heads with their designs being featured in Cosmopolitan Magazine, an episode of Ugly Betty on ABC, and seen in the new Marilyn Manson video.
